Spinozzi race-fit for new 400 Thunder Pro Slammer season
Emilio Spinozzi has been making more test runs than almost anyone else in the Pro Slammer field ahead of he and brother Adamo's sophomore season in the 400 Thunder Professional Drag Racing Series, which begins on November 1 and 2 at Sydney Dragway's East Coast Thunder event.
The driver of the 3000 horsepower Terra Civil Chevelle has had a busier off season than most, as the team discovered a nagging electrical issue that had been holding back their potential.
“We have been chasing a problem with the two-step that has been hindering our efforts and it looks like we have got on top of that,” Emilio said. “We did really well in our last test session and we are looking forward to doing some more testing in the days before East Coast Thunder.” |

Top Five Position Reflects Hard Work of Speedmaster Team
Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi have moved to fifth place in the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer Championship following two wins from three rounds at Willowbank Raceway on Saturday.
While Emilio is the first to admit luck has played a part in being in the top five after three championship rounds, he said the team has been making sure the Speedmaster Chevelle is prepared to make the start line for every round.
“There's the old saying 'to finish first, first you must finish' and the hard work of the Speedmaster team allows us to be out there for every round,” he said. |

Summer of Speed is here for Spinozzi
Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi are looking for a breakthrough run at New Years Thunder tomorrow at Willowbank Raceway in the Speedmaster Chevelle.
The team enjoyed their best result yet in the Pro Slammer division at the last round of the championship in Sydney, earning a semi final finish. The result was enough to propel Spinozzi into sixth place for the 400 Thunder championship.
With fifth placed Mark Hinchelwood to miss this upcoming round, the door is open for Spinozzi to move at least one spot up for the series and potentially more.
“Championships aren't really on our mind, but a top five finish would be an achievable goal to aim for and one I believe is possible even with how many tough teams there are in Pro Slammer,” Spinozzi said. |

Huge Testung Week Sees Gains for Speedmaster Chevelle
Drag racing is all about the sprint, but the week has been more like a marathon for Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi and their Spinozzi Racing team, who have completed five days of testing ahead of the second round of the 400 Thunder Pro Slammer Championship at Sydney Dragway this Friday and Saturday.
A long break after the opening round of the series in Darwin allowed the team to make some changes to their set up in the hopes of finding repeatable runs in the Speedmaster Chevelle. The theories have produced some early results, with driver Emilio Spinozzi clocking his quickest pass yet, a 6.020 personal best.
“The car is getting easier to drive, it is becoming smoother,” he said. “We've been making runs without tyre shake and that means I can concentrate on shifting and everything else that is going on instead of battling the car at the steering wheel.

New Venue Beckons for Speedmaster Team
Emilio and Adamo Spinozzi are taking the Speedmaster Chevelle Pro Slammer to the Northern Territory for the first time and can't wait for the experience of competing at Darwin's Hidden Valley Drag Strip.
The new 400 Thunder season commences this Friday and Saturday at Nitro Up North, an event that has built a reputation for great atmosphere and exciting racing. Emilio Spinozzi said the whole team is excited to be attending a venue new to them and launch their series push in strong fashion.
“We've done much of our racing at Sydney Dragway and Willowbank Raceway and they are great venues, but there is something special about going to a track for the first time,” he explained.

First Pro Slammer experience full of positives for Spinozzi and Speedmaster team
Learning has never been so much fun as when it is done at 390 kilometres per hour, with Spinozzi Racing enjoying two days of Pro Slammer discovery at Sydney Dragway.
Contesting their first competition event in the Speedmaster Chevelle as part of Gulf Western Oil Nitro Thunder, Spinozzi clicked on two win lights from three rounds of racing and set a new personal best time.
The highlights didn't come easy however, with the heavy workload between rounds beginning from the very first practice session.
“Our morning run was our best of the event as we got the car off the start line and ran through for a 6.024, our quickest pass yet,” Spinozzi said.

First Hits Done! What's Next?
The dust has settled, things are returning to normality and the Spinozzi Doorslammer is now being prepared for its next test outing.
The team were extremely happy with all aspects and results from the recent testing of the new Chevelle at Sydney Dragway. Emilio found his feet very quickly (even if he swapped feet like a Pro-Stock driver on the first attempt). Despite this understandable small glitch, the guys calmly pushed the car back and he made the second attempt count with a great 60ft test launch.
Everyone got a taste of the different procedures and duties of what a blown car brings, and soon enough the team were towing out in preparation for their second ever Blown Doorslammer launch. READ MORE |
